Academic Teacher - Kid City Afterschool Program

 

(Half day, 4 days per week, 5 weeks)

-9:00-1:00 (Grades K-2)

-12:25-4:25 (Grades 3-5)

 

Academic Teacher positions consist of math tutors, literacy tutors, art instructors, and technology teachers.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Academic Teachers will plan and teach two consecutive small group segments within the same grade level of 10 students or less
• Teachers will be responsible for transitioning students to and from their segments
• Picking up from mealtime
• Serving snacks
• Modeling positive interactions with students, staff, and the school building
• All staff are expected to building student relationships to manage classroom behaviors

 

Qualifications:

Certified teachers must hold a teacher certification and one year of classroom experience preferred. Non-certified staff must be enrolled in/ or completed college level education courses or have one year of paraprofessional teaching in the classroom. Paraprofessionals working with the DPS may qualify for an academic position.
