ESS Teacher- General Education Curriculum

Blue Ridge is seeking a special education teacher to provide instruction in coordination with a general education classroom teacher and/or in a separate class model content area service for students with disabilities in the general education curriculum.

To be qualified for this position an applicant must possess a current and valid professional educator's certificate in Special Education General Curriculum with elementary grades cognitive level certification in Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Special Education General Curriculum Consultative Certification
Certification in Elementary Education or Equivalent (Elementary Cognitive Level Certification in Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies)

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

• Experience teaching student with disabilities
• Ability to specially design instruction collaboratively
• Experience developing Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans and implementation of behavior support techniques
• Experience completing required special education documents (i.e., IEPs, IEP Progress Reports) and facilitating special education meetings
