Certified drama teacher provides daily instruction to middle grades students (6-8). Adapts course materials and training methods to meet students' need and ability. Teaches enunciation, diction, voice development and dialects using voice exercises, speech drills, explanation, lectures, and improvisation.
- Will teach acting principles and techniques of individual or groups.
- Will inspire and lead student actors into delivering creative performances.
- Will conduct readings to evaluate student talent, rehearsals and presenting performances including auditioning, selecting musicians, actors, deciding on seasonal or special dramatic programs and performances, and selecting guest artists.
- Will work cooperatively and collaboratively with teachers of music and art.
- Will work cooperatively and collaboratively with guest artists, the local drama community, and local arts guild.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To be qualified for this position an applicant must possess or be immediately eligible for clear, renewable Georgia professional permit licensure in Drama. Official transcripts, professional certificate/license, and all test score reports required to validate education and licensure. This position is not available for individuals seeking alternative preparation for certification.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Drama or Theatre.
3-5 Years teaching drama/theatre to secondary students in a school setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional experience in drams/theatre.
